We have in stock the required parts to fix a fairly common issue with the Sony KDL40WD653 (and potentially other models) where the sound and backlights work, but no picture or menu appears.

We're pretty sure it affects other similar Sony models and we will list them as we find them

Posted by Peter Hancock on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, In : Repair
Recently we have had a lot of Panasonic TVs coming into our workshop with startup issues. They have the green light as usual but no picture or sound. This seems to be affecting the 2010 and 2011 models.

Please don't skip them just yet, we have the fix!

Update: We're getting a lot of inquires from outside of our area - Please contact your local tv engineer, as we don't offer a repair service over the phone or send out replacement boards for diy repair.

Check here to see where your tv engineer is:...

Toshiba 40L1333 LED TV sound no picture/backlight

Posted by Peter Hancock on Wednesday, February 11, 2015, In : Repair
We are starting to see LED tvs in the repair shop now, it seems to be that the new LED technology is having some teething issues and are failing earlier than expected.

We are still at the early stages of repair methods for these, however we have had some good success getting the picture back.

If you have a Toshiba LED tv with sound, but either no picture or a very dark picture then it we should be able to repair it.

Affected known models:
Toshiba 32L1333
Toshiba 32L1333D
Toshiba 40L1333
Toshiba 40L1...

Posted by Peter Hancock on Wednesday, October 29, 2014, In : Repair
Although I'm not currently a fan of Philips TVs (tracing their circuitry is a like trying to find a needle in a quagmire), the Philips 37PFL9603H10 can be more straight forward to fix and therefore cost-effective.

If your Philips 37PFL9603H10 has recently lost its Freeview channels, and/or you get a brief glimpse of channel name also showing before going blank (with the backlight still on) with no audio or display, then this should be repairable.

Although I've not come across one yet, I'd imagi...

Samsung LE27T51BXXEU TV sound ok but no picture

Posted by Peter Hancock on Thursday, January 30, 2014, In : Repair
The Samsung LE27T51BXXEU TV is older model granted, but the picture and sound on it aren't that far off some more modern TVs. If your Samsung LE27T51BX has recently lost it's picture but the sound remains ok - Might just be worth getting it repaired as components are still available for it, and at an affordable cost.

Toshiba Freeview Issues - No Picture or Sound

Posted by Peter Hancock on Friday, May 11, 2012, In : Repair
There is a known fault with the Toshiba 32C3030D / 32C3030DB series where the Inbuilt Freeview can suddenly stop working. It will lose both sound and picture and if you press menu then the menu screen only briefly appears. You may find that external sources (e.g. DVD player) will work perfectly fine.

We now have a permanent fix for this and can have it repaired on the day it is brought into the shop. The charge of the repair should be under £50, and in my view, a worth-while fix as the Toshib...
