Even though Goodmans isn't what it once was, an actual company, and now more of a badge, some of their tvs to come out in the last 5 years are still worth saving.

The GTVL32W17HDF & GTVL32W27HDF models are good examples of this.

Good looking, slim, and HD Ready, these can still punch above their weight in sound and picture quality. An added bonus is that it has 2 scart ports compared to the usual 1 (or 0) you get in new "Smart" TVs, handy for that old VCR or DVD Player you may still like to use on the odd occasion.

As with all tvs however, they suffer from hot running components that wear out over time, and when they go you will either get a dark picture in the middle of the screen or the picture will disappear but the sound remains. Both faults are repairable and economically viable.

It's probably worth having checked out before spending hundreds of pounds on a new tv.
