Humax HB-1000S
Humax have now released their latest FreeSat HD STB, replacing their old faithful FoxSatHD STB.
So, what to make of this new box of tricks? Well on first impression it is a compact, smart-looking piece of kit. The HB-1000S (not exactly a catchy name, but hey) comes with the same technology as it's Recorder counterparts - FreeTime. FreeTime is a great feature which allows you to scroll back the last 7 days in the EPG and catchup on programs that you missed. It contains BBC iPlayer, ITV Player, 4oD, Demand 5 and YouTube. The HB-1000S also has a USB port allowing you to record onto an external HDD (not supplied) via the single tuner. You can also watch your own videos, view your photos and listen to music through your home network (ethernet connection required) from your laptop, pc or tablet. Humax Portal also gives you access to extra online content such as social networking, news, weather, magazines, games and children's content.
In short, this small box packs a lot of punch and something Humax can be proud of.
